Jimmy Cowan is desperate to his top form this season having seen him revitalized during the off season and he is looking forward to securing a long term future with the Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club Gloucester Rugby at Kingsholm.

The 31 year old scrum half has had a nightmare six months, having been out of action with a serious knee injury and according to the player himself, he cannot worry about anything else other than giving his best to the club and secure his future. Cowan, an All Black player, is one of 24 players of the Gloucester side that see their contracts expire at the end of the season.

And according to the player, who has formerly played for the Otago Highlanders, he wants to make himself an invaluable asset for the club this term and secure a long term future at the club. And he also knows that the best way to do this would be to get the contract scenario out of his mind and perform at his absolute best.

Having recovered fully a whole month ahead of his schedule, Cowan is eager to prove to Nigel Davies, the Director of Rugby at Gloucester Rugby that he is absolutely ready to return to action for the club in the Premiership. The club take on the Sale Sharks at home in the first match of the new season of the Premiership and the 31 year old is itching to get back into the fold.

According to Cowan, he knows he has to produce then rugby he is capable of. He mentioned that he has been with Gloucester Rugby for a year but missed six months of action and in that situation, the best thing to do is focus on getting back into action and playing to his level best.
