James Simpson Daniel is the greatest player in the history of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club Gloucester Rugby, according to a recent poll conducted online.
The poll was conducted by thisisgloucestershire.co.uk and the voters, who have been numbered as over 1,000 chose their best player from a short list of players drawn up by the most ardent of rugby and the club’s fans. And ‘Sinbad’ won the poll as the greatest player in the history of the club by a whopping majority.
Regus, which provides flexible workspace globally and is opening up a new business in the city, are also part of the tie-up and will now name their new campus at Gloucester Docks after the hugely popular Cherry and Whites man. And hearing the news that he has been named the greatest player in the history of the club, James stated that he was absolutely delighted and mentioned that the feeling is very touching indeed.
He also mentioned that it is an honor and a privilege that the fans of Gloucester Rugby have stayed loyal to him after so many years as well. Speaking about the renaming of the Regus campus after him, he stated that he didn’t know he was in the running for the greatest player in club history as well as the renaming of the campus before mentioning they didn’t have to do so much.
The club is currently languishing in mid-table in the Aviva Premiership but with Director of Rugby Nigel Davies at the helm, there is every hope Gloucester Rugby will reach the lofty standards set by the clubs ahead of them in the Premiership standings and James is hopeful his beloved Cherry and Whites will once again be the talk of the country and provide happiness to the people of the city.
